There is nothing like being out on the water, enjoying a cocktail or two and watching the sun melt into the horizon. Sunsets on Kaua`i are really special and being on a sunset cruise is a fantastic way to end your day.

Captain Andy’s, 800-535-0830, 808-335-6833, www.napali.com, Port Allen, takes you on their 55-foot catamaran for sunset cruises either along the Na Pali Coast or the south shore off Po`ipu. The ride around Na Pali includes a buffet dinner, with cocktails provided throughout the tour. Cost is $105 per person. The ride around Po`ipu is a bit more basic and, at two hours, much shorter. It includes cocktails, but the choices are limited. They do have musicians playing Hawaiian music throughout the cruise. $69 per person.

Holoholo Charters, 808-335-0815, www.holoholocharters.com, Port Allen. They take their 65-foot catamaran out to the Na Pali coast to catch a glorious view of the sunset. You can have heavy pupus, soft drinks and a decent selection of drinks, including a champagne toast at sunset. And, of course, don’t forget the mai tais. $95 per person.

Kaua`i Sea Tours, 800-733-7997 or 808-826-7254, Aka Ula St., Port Allen, www.kauaiseatours.com. For an excellent sunset dinner cruise, this is the tour to go on. You’ll hop on the Lucky Lady for a dinner buffet, which isn’t great but is better than a number of places in town. The staff is friendly and helpful. Cost is $109 per person. During the summer, they also offer a dinner cruise with snorkeling. $139 per person.

Blue Dolphin Charters, 808-335-5553, 877-511-1311, Port Allen, www.kauaiboats.com, has a sunset cruise that sails around the Po`ipu area. This two-hour cruise includes dinner, drinks and live music; it’s available only in the summer. $95 per person. They also have a year-round cruise that goes around Na Pali for $116 per person.
